Ya'an already has the technique of making bronze ware?
China has a long history of bronze ware production, with exquisite bronze utensils, enjoying a high reputation in world art history and occupying a unique position.
There are many bronze artifacts unearthed in Ya'an during the Warring States and Han dynasties. From the Warring States period to the Han Dynasty, it was a glorious period of ancient civilization in Ya'an. The unearthed artifacts were mainly bronze, many of which were influenced by other foreign cultures. However, there is a significant difference in style between the Han Dynasty bronze artifacts unearthed in Ya'an and those of the Warring States period. The majority of the Warring States period bronze artifacts are weapons, and there is almost no trace of weapons in the Han Dynasty bronze artifacts. The majority are household utensils, which is consistent with the development and style transformation of Chinese bronze artifacts. However, in terms of the unearthed bronze artifacts, the patterns and styles are still rich and varied.
During the Warring States period, in the 9th year of Gengyuan, King Huiwen of the King Huiwen of Qin (316 AD), Qin destroyed Shu and set up Shu Prefecture. Open the Qingyi Road and send it by mail. Afterwards, the Qiang people migrated along the Qingyi River to Ya'an, which is the hometown of the Qingyi Qiang Kingdom. In the late Warring States period (222 AD), Qin overthrew Chu and relocated the remnants of Chu, Yan Dao (Zhuangdao), to Shu. Yan Dao County (now Xingjing) was established, under the jurisdiction of Shu County. This was the earliest establishment of Ya'an, and this establishment also added a layer of mystery to the later Ya'an.
In the early days, bronze ware was more commonly used in warfare. Among the large number of early bronze artifacts unearthed in our city, weapons account for a significant portion. Not only the tribal struggles in Ya'an, but also the struggles of more powerful countries and forces are unfolding in Ya'an, and they may have fought one after another.
In the 1970s and 1980s, a batch of earth pit tombs from the Warring States Period to the early Western Han Dynasty were successively found in Baoxing County. A large number of bronzes, such as bronze swords, bronze spears, bronze daggers, bronze knives, bronze arrowheads, bronze chisels, bronze handrails, bronze cauldrons, bronze medals, bronze plates and bronze ornaments, were unearthed in these tombs and tombs. These copper utensils are exquisitely crafted, some even plated with silver, which can be comparable to bronze utensils from other places.
At first, it was suspected that these unearthed bronze artifacts were not made by the Qiang people in Baoxing, but with the further development of archaeology, a large number of discarded swords and swords were unearthed. Cheng Shufang said that scrap is different from scrap, as its damage is not caused by later factors such as rust or use, but rather by unsuccessful casting of waste products, which belong to weapons that have been cast into billets but not processed. According to common sense, waste products (including semi-finished products) are generally never transported as circulating products to other places for sale, exchange, or gift. The appearance of waste swords in Baoxing cannot be considered as foreign objects. From these, it can be inferred that bronze casting technology and workshops had already emerged in Baoxing at that time, and the people of Ya'an had already mastered the smelting and manufacturing process of bronze, And its production level and craftsmanship have reached a relatively high level.
"At the time of the Warring States Period, Qin and Han Dynasties, Ya'an was once inhabited by many tribes, which was the cultural corridor of ancient nations and had frequent cultural exchanges. These bronzes unearthed in the Warring States Period played an important role in further exploring the ethnic composition of the southwest region and the Archaeological culture of various ethnic groups. At the same time, they are of great value for studying the Archaeological culture in the middle and upper reaches of the Dadu River and establishing an archaeological system in the region." Cheng Shufang said.
